It is not growing like a tree

In bulk, doth make Man better be;

Or standing long an oak, three hundred year,

To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere:

A lily of a day

Is fairer far in May,

Although it fall and die that night -

It was the plant and flower of Light

In small proportions we just beauties see;

And in short measures life may perfect be.

We enjoy beauty in smaller things. It doesn't require to be large to be beautiful. Short life can also be perfect like that of lily.)

व्यक्ति का आकार में बहुत बड़ा हो जाना ही उसकी महान बन जाना नहीं है। या फिर ओक के पेड़ की तरह 300 वर्ष खड़े रहना और फिर सूखकर पत्ता विहीन (गंजा) होकर और लठ्ठ बनकर गिर जाना भी महानता नहीं है।

इससे अच्छी तो एक दिन की लिली ( कुमुदिनी का फूल) है जो मई के महीने में बहुत सुंदर दिखता है। हालांकि वो उसी रात को गिर कर मर (मुरझा) जाने वाला है परन्तु वह प्रसन्नता का पौधा था।

हम छोटी छोटी चीजों में ही खुशी ढूंढ़ते हैं और छोटा समय (जीवन काल) भी पूर्ण हो सकता है।
